By critically analyzing the social effects in the video, it is easily identifiable that Daniel has several key behaviors of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Daniel has problems in social interactions in that during early play interactions with the educator, he seems to be aloof, just as described by ABA Therapy—Play (2014). He only occasionally and rarely uses appropriate eye contact and fails to respond to verbal and gesture communication as expected of his age. What strategies does the educator use in this video? In the video, the educator uses several techniques based on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) to establish social interaction with Daniel. Initially, he employs visual Supports and then Prompts as his unique teaching strategies. The educator also implements objects and body language to explain instructions to Daniel and recognizable cues. It also assists in the simplification of work tasks, clarification of expectations of job roles, and minimizing stress levels. Second, he adopts reinforcement (Vicker, 1998). Positive reinforcement strategies are used to increase the likelihood of Daniel engaging in social interaction, which is as follows (Vicker, 1998).
