1 How many words did you recall, and were some more difficult to remember than others?
Among the thirty words listed, only thirteen were recalled. These include money, monkey, kiwi, sword, clock, house, pepper, bell, tea, guitar, nine, horse, and key. The other words are more difficult to remember than the rest because they do not rhyme. Also, most do not have a connection in any aspect of the word’s position on the list.
2 Why might it be difficult to recall every word on the list?
The person remembers around eight items (i.e., eight words from a list) between zero to eighteen seconds (Ellison, 2017). However, some claim that the number of items that can be recalled is seven plus or minus two (Cherry, 2020).
