This report analyses a study by Jonathan Weiss and Yona Lunsky on “Group Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Adults with Asperger Syndrome and Anxiety or Mood Disorder: A Case Series”. The purpose of the study by Weiss and Lunsky (2010) is to explore the viability of a manualized cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) group program (mind over mood) in addressing mood and anxiety disorders stemming from Asperger syndrome diagnosis. To achieve their objective, Weiss and Lunsky (2010) conducted a qualitative review of three individuals diagnosed with AS who are unable to access psychotherapy through mainstream health services. The CBT intervention was provided over 12 weekly 1-hour sessions.
