  James Roszko ambushed and murdered four Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers in Mayerthorpe, Alberta, Canada on March 3, 2005 (Pruden, 2011).  In the Mayerthorpe tragedy, Roszko took revenge on the police whom he disliked and appears to have carefully planned the murder. The four officers had initially visited Roszko‘s farm to repossess a truck, but he fled together with stolen vehicle parts and later on the ambushed the officers at night. Roszko grew marijuana on his farm, and he had previously been committed property crimes, sexual and violent offenses and he was not allowed to possess guns. Roszko was involved in instrumental aggression as his personality trait indicated he was violent and quick to react to any provocation.  This was no random act of violence, but rather Roszko planned to attack the authority figures, whom he did not like. Roszko knew that if officers visited his farm, they were more likely to seize his truck under a civil order.
