In this article, I will discuss the motifs of immigration, separation, and identity presented in this film and reflect on their present-day relevance to global problems. Critical Reflection Last Resort paints a sad picture of the lives of immigrants whose assets are threatened by the refusal of asylum in the UK. The movie touches on an inextricable link between bureaucratic inertia and social derision that immigrants like Tanya must learn to deal with for the sake of their safety and prosperity. The movie shows the immigration system that raises social justice questions about the social position of the marginalized and their interaction with the law.
