Unit 4 Discussion Question For this discussion, you will gain practice identifying the appropriate measurable dimensions, data collection systems, and experimental design considerations. For scenarios 1–3, you will identify the following for each: The measurable dimension of each target behavior Discuss your reasoning for your selection The appropriate data collection device needed to record each target behavior Discuss your reasoning for your selection Scenario #1 Mr. Rogers is the senior manager of Ladies' Blouses, Inc. Recently, production has fallen by 27%, and stakeholders are getting nervous. Mr. Rogers believes that it is time to try an incentive plan to increase his workers' motivation to produce the necessary number of blouses each week. He called a meeting of all employees and announced that he would be providing Friday afternoon off with pay for each employee who met the goal of producing 25 blouses a day, Monday through Thursday. Each employee will mark the blouses they produce with a number-coded sticker so managers can identify each employee's production for each day of the week. A $50.00 bonus will be added to the monthly paychecks of those employees who exceed daily production by five blouses for 3 out of 4 weeks in a month. Scenario #2 Teddy's parents would like him to be able to sit quietly during weekly dinners with his grandparents. Typically, Teddy tells several stories of his day at school during these dinners. A few stories are nothing to complain about, but he goes into great detail and can talk about a subject for quite some time. As a result, there is rarely time for adult conversation. Scenario #3 Marsha is in second grade. She loves school and being with her friends. She likes having her desk by the window to look out and watch the birds and butterflies in the courtyard. Recently, her teacher has noticed that she is not finishing her work. Mrs. Willis has noticed her looking out the window after giving instructions for the class to begin working on the worksheets. While Marsha turns in all of her work, many of the worksheets are incomplete. For scenario #4, discuss the experimental design you would use based on the target behavior. Review the reasoning for your selection and discuss one benefit and one weakness of the chosen experimental design Scenario #4 John is 5 years old and has a hard time when he is told no. You have been tracking baseline data for John's target behavior of head banging. He will bang his head on hard surfaces, which typically results in cuts and bruising. This behavior happens several times per hour. His family is really concerned that this behavior is going to result in long-term damage if it is not reduced soon. You are ready to implement your intervention. https://www(dot)icloud(dot)com/iclouddrive/0bd7O_OO7PZWRsZHzBAMgYKWQ#behavior-modification-principles-and-procedures-6th-edition-original-pdf-1701742378 https://www(dot)icloud(dot)com/iclouddrive/017gsLuEN-tN_JFPiytIQfrwQ#applied-behavior-analysis

Rationale: The dimension is easily measurable and reflects the level of work done by employees, which can help the management determine the efficiency of the incentive plan. Data Collection Device: A unique number written on the back of each blouse produced was documented in a logbook daily. Rationale: Number-coded stickers make it easy to identify each employee by their respective production and ensure accountability. It is easy to track production progress when you have a daily log where you collect such information systematically. Scenario #2 Target Behavior Measurable Dimension: The amount of time Teddy spends speaking during dinner. Rationale: This dimension is key for his parents to achieve their goal of increasing the amount of adult conversation time because it off...
