EBP emphasizes decisions through scientific evidence. Decision-makers use evidence to evaluate instances and justify actions to share robust opinions. EBP is an infamous approach in diverse fields, such as healthcare, law, management, and public policy. The specified fields require evidence to proceed with the operational roadmaps and execute a calculated decision to avoid procedural disruptions in the long run. Evidence includes knowledge, judgment, and critical reasoning of decision-makers to propose ideas and opinions to address a scientific problem (Megersa et al., 2023). Companies and researchers use EBP to define problems through rationale and systematic procedures before concluding the results. Nonetheless, scientists use EBP to measure the behavioral measures of a study subject. Researchers measure psychological and physiological behaviors to determine the cause-and-effect of variables. Researchers measure behaviors through observation and action recording to gather evidence. Researchers process evidence and determine the change influencers on behavioral responses, making a study tested through experiments, tests, and observations. As a result, the research contributes to identifying relationships, causes, effects, and outcomes of variables influencing the subject study (Sen & Gredeback, 2023). EBP is a robust approach for behavioral measures, leading to rational outcomes in the long run. Discussion Scientist-Practitioner Model (SPM) SPM is a robust approach for psychologists to perform scientific research in clinical psychology. The model was developed initially to train psychologists in science and practice (Weiss, 2018). However, SPM evolution facilitated researchers to conduct EBP research by gathering evidence. Psychologists could use SPM to explore dysfunctions and improve treatment interventions. Scientists could also improve behavioral responses by providing choices in treatment to fulfill ethical compliance (Hallsworth, 2023). Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) analysts embrace SPM to improve treatment intervention and promote patient wellness. Cognitive conditions evolve significantly among patients during the treatment cycle. However, ABA analysts require an identification procedure to identify, understand, and respond to changes in cognitive behaviors (Schwartz & Kelly, 2021). SPM allows patients to receive evidence-based treatment with updated conditions to mitigate psychological concerns. SPM increases functional and communication efficacies since decisions are evidence-driven. Analysts use SPM to create generalizable and causal knowledge to control errors and improve recovery lead time (Graber & Graber, 2023). SPM strengthens ABA analysts in clinical psychology, creating decision-making efficacies and providing evidence for causal knowledge in the long run. EBP is a significant approach for the robust implementation of SPM in clinical psychology. Theoretically, EBP ensures that SPM functions with scientific principles. EBP integrates proof, reliability, and ethical standards to improve treatment quality during clinical sessions. ABA analysts use professional knowledge, experience, and abilities to generate solutions and facilitate the cognitive recovery of patients attending sequential sessions. Besides, EBP allows ABA analysts to examine problems, discover solutions, and formulate guidelines for implementing treatment plans. EBP also assists analysts in predicting the outcome evaluation based on facts, quantitative results, and behavioral evidence gathered through robust observation (Rodriguez-Seijas et al., 2023). Hence, EBP is critical in implementing SPM for continuous recovery in patient’s cognitive responses. Furthermore, reliability and validity contribute distinctly to using SPM in clinical psychology. Reliability measures the faith of researchers in data obtained from effective instruments during scientific research. ABA analysts rely on validity and reliability before proceeding with treatment interventions using the SPM approach. The two metrics ensure that results are valuable while predicting treatment outcomes and navigating interventions by observing behavioral changes (Biberdzic & Grenyer, 2022). Analysts or clinical psychologists would use data to apply changes in treatment plans, optimizing patient’s health outcomes in the long run. Social validity is inevitable for clinical psychologists when delivering behavioral intervention plans using SPM principles. The healthcare sector became diverse due to paradigm shifts in social structures. As a result, practitioners require treatment plans with social inclusivity to comply with ethical and moral guidelines. Practitioners ensure that interventions have social acceptability and are relevant to the patient’s cognitive conditions. The interventions should offer practicality and evident improvements in cognitive behaviors to meet social validity benchmarks in the long run (Schuck et al., 2024). Hence, social validity is inevitable for clinical psychologists to propose an acceptable and SPM-driven intervention plan to patients regardless of ethnic, cultural, or gender associations. SPM improved my professional ethics and workplace behavior towards patients. The model allowed me to demonstrate emotional intelligence and understand the patient’s cognitive state before initiating intervention sessions.
