Applying Neurobiological Concepts to an Activity of Daily Living
Applying Neurobiological Concepts to an Activity of Daily Living
Psychology was created by combining physiology with philosophy. For this assignment, you will recall concepts covered in your readings that are biological in nature and relate these concepts with an activity that you do on a daily basis.
Please use the Unit 4 Assignment Template to respond to the following:
Describe an activity that you do on a regular basis in your life.
For example, “I start my day making a cup of coffee,” or “I love reading my child a story before he goes to bed.”
Consider the different parts of the brain. Describe what areas might be directly involved with your chosen activity.
Be sure you have completed the Unit 4 Learning Activity for a refresher on this neuropsychology.
Define the concept of neurotransmitters. Relate the concept of neurotransmitters to your activity and identify which neurotransmitters could be involved. Explain your reasoning.
The Unit 4 Learning Activity provides a table of neurotransmitters to consider.
Define sensation and perception. Explain the difference between the two and describe how each relate to your chosen activity.

My bed-making may directly involve the frontal lobe. I believe this since the frontal lobe plays a direct role in motor control, emotion, and logic. I utilize logic to determine that making my bed will help me have a more successful day. I use emotion since it gives me a mental indicator of how effective I am doing whether or not I make my bed (making my bed usually improves my emotional condition during the day and when I get home). Making my bed is a physical action using motor control (Benjamin, 2018).My bed-making may directly involve the frontal lobe. Define the concept of neurotransmitters.
Benjamin (2018) states neurotransmitters serve as the nervous system's chemical transmitters. The nerves uses these particles to transfer information across neurons or from neurons to muscles. Neurons release neurotransmitters in various ways. Neurons also send neurotransmitters to transmit multiple needs and occurrences across the body.Benjamin (2018) states neurotransmitters serve as the nervous system's chemical transmitters. Relate the concept of neurotransmitters to your activity.
Neurotransmitters transfer signals from the brain to the body (Brett, 2021). Therefore, they are functioning and actively communicating with my brain to instruct my body to take up the duvet and arrange it properly, arrange the bedsheets and pillows, and generally spread the bed.Neu...
