Shortage of natural resource will undoubtedly affect future competence of our environment. This paper will discuss scarcity of potentially disconcerting resource areas i.e. food, fuel and non-fuel minerals. As far as field of energy is concerned, the expectation from market-stimulated solutions are high, latest processes of conservation and production of alternative fuels may prove to be effective. The following threatening area of shortage, is strategic minerals which is of crucial importance for the stability of economy. Then comes the scarcity of food availability, which appears as the utmost long-term (20-30 year) intimidation to the nations for its impacts on world stability. (Inoue and Isozaki, 2003)
If current trends of scarcity of natural resources persist any longer, undoubtedly the upcoming years can be anticipated to be more polluted, more crowded, economically less stable and more at risk to create disturbance in the planet where we live at present. Depletion of natural resources represents lack of efforts made by the governments to preserve them. This conditions will prove to be extremely hazardous if governments take no actions in terms of institutions, public policies or rates of technological advancement. In the start of twentieth century none of the countries within European continent had total economic independence. More or less each European country, except the United Kingdom, had no expertise in any particular type of production. In those days, Russia also produced no manufactured goods, however, it used to supply huge quantities of food all over the world.
Russia was quite rich in its natural resources before the war began. Its transportation was efficient enough to deliver desired goods or food items to within and outside the country. However, the over burden on its transportation due to armed forces and troops movement uncovered its weakness, and with every upcoming week during the war Russian transportation worsened. That harmed Russian economic life to a great extent. During the civil war it was prohibited to supply Russian coal and oil. Later on, Russian coal mines were released, but they were in extremely bad condition that no significant amount of coal can be expected to get out of these. Poor transportation service led Russia to the scarcity of manufactured products import.
Due to poor transportation services it was not possible to import food, fuel or raw material to Russian factories and it became impossible for Russian industry to produce modicum too. The Government of Soviet Union is now trying to introduce huge quantities of agricultural implements. They are planning to start new factories that will solely manufacture such types of things. However, due to poor condition of transportation, it seemed difficult to fulfill requirements for fuel, material and other things easily. In the meantime, farmers of Russia, used burnt staves to plow the fields instead to sharp spades that makes the process even slower.
These conditions have affected Russian agricultural productive powers to a great extent. However, situation can be improved by putting more efforts to grow forests instead of corn and rye lands. In addition to that, the manufacture of wood fuel was also affected, that left a negative impact on transportation and factories. However, according to a latest report, Russian Government is slow in renewing its oil reserves as compare to its booming production. Hence, it may be deficient in providing resources to uphold existing production levels after this year. According to Russian Ministry for Natural Resources, nearly two hundred forty million tones of new reserves of oil were discovered in 2009, which produced nearly four hundred and twenty one million tones oil.
