Meaningful and effective recruitment and selection processes are perceived as appropriate interventions that can save the firm from experiencing adverse situations. This includes unproductive interviews and tests due to non-availability of the right candidate within the applicants’ pool, compromising the selection of appropriate candidates, low profitability, and productivity, high attrition rate, as well as lower motivation levels among employees (Kapur, 2020).
If selection and placement decisions are made effectively, performance discrepancies among workers should be relatively small. This is because effective selection and placement decisions inform the members of the approaches and methods needed to conduct various activities and tasks appropriately (Kapur, 2020). Performance differences are expected to be small when firms obtain and place qualified workers within every job and position to ensure that the execution of the duties is more effective and efficient (Nikmah & Armaniah, 2021). Moreover, a candidate is accepted or rejected based on the assumptions concerning their potential to become a successful employee at their job.
