Organizations that are keen on success have to be built on sound leadership. It is imperative that firms that are inclined on ensuring there growth not only in terms of revenue and profitability but also market share employ and put individuals at the helm with effective management skills and attributes. On this breadth, I will benefit my organization as the operations manager with the following managerial skills.
Firstly, I will strive to practice effective communication throughout the organization. I will ensure I communicate with members of my team professionally and without using any jargon that would compromise on the meaning and essence of the message I am passing along (Abdin, 2008). I would lead by example by encouraging feedback from my subordinates through active listening. I will strive to impart and inculcate these essential attributes of effective communication throughout the company and make it part and parcel of its culture. I am a strong believer of the fact that effective communication is necessary for collaboration and consequently satisfactory achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
Secondly, I will find ways to connect with the employees and build a cohesive team. I firmly believe that organizational goals are usually achieved better when employees coordinate and support one another in tackling the different tasks assigned to them. For instance, the production and marketing teams need to work together to ensure they meet consumer needs and demands. As such, I will introduce regular team building events and activities that will get the employees to bond and learn to trust each other. I will also encourage the employees to appreciate and acknowledge the different cultures, ethnicities, religions, genders and age groups in their mist (Gallie et al., 2010).
