Servant leadership is a paradox, where leaders are expected to serve their organization through the people under them. Leaders are expected to rise for their organizations and not focus on what the organizations can achieve and do for them (Pircher Verdorfer, 2019). To execute servant leadership efficiently, leaders start by thinking about how they can treat their staff as their customers and not just people they can step on as they move up the success ladder. The higher one moves up in any organization, the greater the responsibility and obligation to become a servant (Pircher Verdorfer, 2019). Servant leaders are therefore obliged to be ready to give up on their short-term dreams and goals so that they can be in a position to provide and enable the dreams of people around them.
