Antitrust law has been pivotal in shaping the new era of medical markets. Between 1985 and 1999 hospital or medical care facilities were defendants in 61 percent of the 394 medical antitrust disputes (Hammer & Sage, 2003). The federal antitrust rules and regulations are represented by default rules for the private economy (Hammer & Sage, 2003). These laws do not have indifference to medical facilities but it does to their inability to address the role of the government itself as a regulatory body and purchaser (Hammer & Sage, 2003). One of the big antitrust lawsuit cases was called Health First’s monopoly case. In 2013, several plaintiffs filed a cases stating Health First was intimidating physicians by forming a monopoly in this area of Florida (Ellison, 2015). They were accused of intimidating physicians and obstructing their ability to practice medicine in the Florida county of Brevard (Ellison, 2015). Health First was doing this by stating if these physicians did not refer patients directly to them there would be consequences. Overall, Health First had control of at least 70 percent of the patient population in this area and by not allowing for patients to be seen elsewhere, it would be preventing the patient and the doctor from seeking the best care in the area for that patient’s specific needs (Ellison, 2015).

Covid-19 pandemic has created tension globally. People are in panic state since no concrete solution are currently being established. I agree that it is a major threat to global economy and operations. Activities such as; travelling, importing, exporting, global conferences, sports and foreign currency exchange, are not contacted like there before (Xu et al, 2020). I think that it is everyone’s responsibility to make sure they are safe and kept off the virus. Observing hygienic safety measures by World Health Organization (WHO) and health professionals can enable individuals evade covid-19. As well, encouraging each individual on matters to stay safe and collected for purposes of avoiding panic has to be done by professional counselors. Global war has to be experienced since states will have broken their initial treaties. What do you think?

I believe that patients have a right to make decisions on which hospital to seek treatment. Denying patients an opportunity to make decisions based on treatment is totally unethical (Tepper, 2018). Patient’s specific needs should be addressed by qualified physicians and not by individuals absorbed by their own interests. Health First should have allowed physicians support patients to make dependent choices without any fear. I think that in most cases when uncomfortable patients get treated by individual they do not trust, blames emerge thereafter. Tepper indicates that, physicians should not be intimidate...
