Process Strategies: An Analysis of Tesla's Operations
Read the opening case study on Harley Davidson (CH 7). This is the basis for your understanding of Process Strategies
Select a business, which will help you analyze specific areas related to designing processes. Avoid companies where research is difficult.
Introduce (very briefly) your selected business – who are they; what do they do; products and services; location(s); mission and values etc.
From what you have learned so far:
Select 1 process (descriptive) which is useful to design, develop and detail your particular business e.g. I-P-O; Supply Chain & sustainability; CPM; TQM Tools (Flow charts, Fishbone); House of Quality; PCN Analysis; Bottleneck analysis and theory of constraints
Select 1 process (quantitative) which will help you analyze the outcomes e.g. factor analysis for rating outsourcing providers; crossover chart; design and effective capacity; breakeven analysis
Conclude with a critical analysis and present your clear well-thought perspective (from what you have learned so far) of the strengths and challenges of the business
3-4 pages maximum
Use paragraphs, titles, bullets etc. Where required, use flow charts, graphics, and tables
Cite all sources using APA Format - which requires both in-text and end-of-paper citations
Remember all your work must be spell and grammar checked

Introduction
Tesla is a universally recognized organization for designing, developing, and selling electric vehicles, energy-storing, and solar products. Established in 2003 by Marc Tarpenning and Martin Eberhard, the organization is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Tesla is being pushed forward by its main mission to "accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. “The organization's core values focus on excellence, sustainability, and innovation. Tesla's major on products such as Model Y, Model 3, Model X, and Model S, and energy solution products like powerwalls and solar panels.
Supply chain and Sustainability: A Descriptive process
Given Tesla's obligation to innovation and sustainability, the production network and manageability process is essential. Tesla's company supply chain is broad, obtaining unrefined materials like cobalt, lithium, and nickel from various regions to produce batteries and other products. This cycle starts with the procurement of raw materials, then manufacturing, assembly, and delivery to clients (Sanders, 2008).
