Introduction
This document will help the reader to understand the responsibilities required for a marketing team lead to launch a product line. In the current scenario, the company develops and distributes personal care products for both women and men. In order to launch a new product line, there are certain steps necessary to be taken. This document will uncover such steps and will enlighten the aspects that must be considered before launching a new product line in the marketplace. Without proper analysis of certain aspects of the team members, it will undoubtedly become quite difficult for the organization to successfully launch the new product line in the marketplace (Garcia & Middleton, 2016).
Team Communication and Motivation
The first and foremost step would be to create a clear path of communication for all members of the marketing team. There is no doubt that the open lines of communication will help us to execute our task without any misunderstanding or miscommunication. A proper set of guidelines will be given to each marketing team member which will ask them to talk to each other and listen. Depending upon the nature of team members, a proper communication tool will be used. The reason for that is quite simple as the working process of the new product line will be built on a constant flow of ideas, creative brainstorming sessions, feedback, and communication (Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2015). In order to make the entire team aligned with the desired goals, a scheduled meeting will be conducted daily, because it will help the members to be aware of the current situation (Saitis & Saiti, 2018). Moreover, it will also help in avoiding miscommunications between the marketing team.
One of the reasons to develop effective communication is to motivate the marketing team as well. There is a high need to motivate the team as it will help to make them remain aligned with the goals and they will support the overall marketing plan (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart & Wright, 2017). To motivate them, clear expectations will be set to remove any misunderstanding. High consideration will be given in understanding each member of the team. Depending upon the nature of employee, award and recognition system will be conducted as it helps in maintaining the overall morale. The next step would be to make sense of belief in the product as it will serve in motivating the marketing professionals.
The ideas given by any member of the team will be given a value. If any such ideas make sense, they will be implemented. Although, the marketing plan consists of everything that is necessary to be implemented in order to have a successful product launch, however, managing the marketing team tends to require a lot of effort as well (Zhu, Gardner, & Chen, 2018). For the given organization, the above-mentioned steps are crucial to maintaining team communication and motivation. In a nutshell, it can simply be assumed that without proper team communication or motivation within the team members, it will become quite difficult to successfully launch the new product line in the marketplace.
Decision Making and Problem Solving
As the aim is to lead the marketing team for a new product line, there is a high need to consider decision-making and problem-solving skills. As a matter of fact, problem-solving often tends to involve decision-making. On the other hand, decision-making is undoubtedly crucial for managing overall marketing. There is no doubt that certain problems may arise while implementing the marketing strategy for the organization (Saitis & Saiti, 2018). Therefore, the decision-making process must be taken into consideration. If there comes any issue, the first step would be to clarify and define the issue.
The second step would be in collecting all the facts that are directly or indirectly linked with it and the causes will be understood. The third step would be to brainstorm or think about each possible solution or action that can be taken in order to solve the issue from its roots (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart & Wright, 2017). On identifying the possible solutions or options, each of them will be compared by considering the pros and cons. The comparison will help the team to pick up a better solution. After identifying the best possible solution, the decision will then be explained to each team member. The reason for that is to maintain effective communication and increase motivation.
Conflict Management
Whether the launch of the product line is on a large scale or small, there are many reasons due to which conflicts can arise within teams. In the current scenario, there is a high need to consider conflict management for the given organization. The reason for that is quite simple as the organization is on a large scale and the product line will also be launched on a large scale. Due to this, the number of conflicts to occur will be increased. Conflicts may arise even on minor arguments or miscommunication (Gossman, Ellis & Toney-Butler, 2019). However, to solve each conflict tends to require a lot of effort and understanding.
