Even though there are tasks that individuals can perform on their own, there are other instances where the individuals opt to work as a group. However, when creating groups, one of the factors that people should consider is the size of the group since it affects the group's performance. For example, a smaller size is usually more effective than a bigger one. One of the reasons is that fewer individuals are likely to agree on their goals with ease compared to the larger groups, making the smaller groups more cohesive than the larger ones (Slater, 1958). On the other hand, large groups are likely to create more data since the individuals would likely gather a variety of ideas that they could likely employ to find solutions to the current problems.
