Think about the results from the Gallup Survey for a minute, and how it compares to the Academy, Baseball Team, Fortress, and Club cultures described by McNamara in the Background reading.

Then prepare a 2- to 3-page paper addressing:
* In your opinion, do the Gallup results fit your general expectations or constitute a surprise in some ways? Interpret the results of the Gallup survey in terms of your own experience, either to confirm or to question the results. Compare the Gallup results and your opinions with the McNamara categories.
* The degree to which the Gallup results and the McNamara information tell you similar or dissimilar things about your organization.
* Does the Gallup survey and the McNamara categories help improve your managerial understanding and/or skills? The Gallup results fit my expectations in several ways. Indeed, effective practices of productive workplaces can only be seen at the workgroup level. The twelve dimensions, as explained in the Gallup results, are essential practices for any workplace. By knowing what is expected of me, I am able to do what is required to ensure and promote growth and organizational progress. Additionally, having the materials and the equipment I need to work optimally helps me achieve the set target at the right and opportune time. Receiving recognition and praise for doing something exceptional in the workplace also steers the motivation to continue doing my best at all times. When the supervisor or manager shows utmost care and concern about me in my work, I feel honored and important enough, having the confidence that my work is visible.
Having someone, such as a close friend within the workplace, who encourages me to do my best to better the organization and myself also contributes to creating a thriving working environment. When my opinions seem important enough to count, I feel important, worthy, and valued. Comprehending the organization's mission, vision, and purpose helps in focusing on the set work plans to achieve goals and progress. Having highly productive colleagues at work committed to producing quality work also steers the zeal and motivation to make things happen. Having someone talk to me about my progress at work assists in identifying any improvement points and adjusting as necessary while noting my potentials and strengths. I am glad to have received several opportunities at work to learn and grow.
