Your textbook references Leonard White’s perspective in the article titled “Introduction to the Study of Public Administration.” White suggests that successful public administrators are effective at discerning public problems and providing effective and interesting solutions. Identify a public (government or nonprofit) problem, and provide a narrative that reflects the practice and research of effective management.

Your scenario should reference a local, national, or nonprofit incident that requires a public fix. Examples include enlarging a public park, expanding a public library, adding extra wings to a hospital to accommodate increased patient loads, building a new terminal for an expanding airline, adding nonprofit services for low-income families, and increasing mentoring services that support youth programs. After choosing your incident, your essay must include the components listed below.

 Provide some historical background.

 Identify key stakeholders involved.

 Identify the resources needed.

 Explain what challenges were overcome.

 Summarize the results.

 Identify any continued monitoring or oversight that is needed.

 Summarize the lessons learned regarding how the organization balanced institutional changes to solve the problem.

Ensure your essay is at least two pages in length but is no longer than four pages in length, is double-spaced, and uses 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins. Section headings are also encouraged to help organize your paper.

The purpose of this assignment is to gauge your understanding of the content, so focus on writing original content rather than simply regurgitating the textbook or other sources, whether by paraphrasing or using direct quotes. Paraphrasing is acceptable, but try to keep paraphrasing to a minimum. A good rule of thumb is to use 80% of your own work and to paraphrase 20% or less of the work of others.

Historical Background
The National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, DC. In particular, the NYEC strives to help young people get employed (National Youth Employment Coalition, 2023). Unemployment of young individuals is a significant issue globally. The NYEC provides youths with opportunities so that they can improve the quality of their lives, especially when they get employed and start earning. Although the NYEC offers career developmental, social, and educational opportunities for young people, it should also mentor the youth so that they can meet the skills required by employers in the highly dynamic workforce in the United States of America (USA).
Key Stakeholders
Leonard White argues that public administration entails managing resources and humans to accomplish established goals and objectives. As such, public administrators should identify public problems and offer effective solutions (White, 2017). The primary stakeholders who can ensure that young individuals get proper mentorship to match employers’ needs include business owners, youth, training practitioners, counselors, educators, and government representatives. These people should collaborate to ensure that the youth acquire relevant knowledge and skills to prepare them to enter the job market. For example, educators should learn the employment trends so that they can revise their curricula to ensure that young people have appropriate knowledge and skills. Besides, many graduates stay for an extended period before getting employed once they are out of school.
Needed Resources
Job creation is one of the sustainable development goals. Youth unemployment is a significant issue that should be mitigated by ensuring that the NYEC and other respective organizations have resources to ensure that many young individuals are employed. For instance, immersion or internship programs help the youth to get work-based educational experiences associated with specific professions, occupations, or jobs (Adeosun, Shittu, & Owolabi, 2022). For the NYEC to provide effective youth employment mentorship programs, it requires various resources. They include learning materials, training practitioners, access to the Internet, and workshops. Indeed, it should not be assumed that every graduate has the relevant knowledge and skills to work in a specific field, occupation, or profession. Those who do not get employed after completing their studies should be enrolled in mentorship programs so that they can acquire appropriate skills in the fields they are interested to offer services. That way, it would become easier for employers to consider and hire them.
Challenges Overcome
For the NYEC to successfully implement a youth employment mentorship program, it should consider several challenges that might hinder the program’s effectiveness. Specifically, the primary challenge is the lack of stakeholders’ collaboration to ensure that young people have what it takes to work in the highly dynamic workforce (Dhakal, Connell, & Burgess, 2018). In that light, th...
