Self-esteem can be defined as the degree to which an individual demonstrates confidence in their abilities. According to Malureanu (2021), self-efficacy can be conceptualized as someone’s belief in their competencies in performing a given task. Although self-esteem and self-efficacy are closely related in their definition, there are dynamisms in which the former affects the latter. Self-esteem leads to high self-efficacy by influencing how effectively an individual can perform a job, thus augmenting satisfaction through the choices made. In this regard, self-efficacy motivates individuals to work hard toward achieving predetermined objectives (Baack, 2019a). Within the business environment, job design and related characteristics, including task significance, feedback, autonomy, and skill variety, offer higher insight motivation by ensuring workers are satisfied. This results in performance and outcomes improvements at the workplace even when market dynamics adversely impact the enterprise.
