Step 1. Access
Access the Qualitative Research Paper Outline on the Learning Objects page. Save a copy of the template, so it is easily accessible. You will create sections of the paper in the module assignments and compile the paper in Module 10.
Step 2. Identify
Identify a topic appropriate for qualitative research in an area of interest related to your program of study.
Step 3. Research
Using the ACE library and scholarly sources, conduct a literature review to collect background information about the topic Include a minimum of five peer-reviewed articles in the literature review. See the Learning Objects page for resources on how to write a literature review.
Step 4. Draft
Draft an introduction, problem, purpose, and two research questions appropriate to the topic. Select and describe a potential target population accessible during this 10-week course. These elements may change as you progress through the assignments, but they provide a starting point for your exploration.
The problem statement should begin: The problem is…and be followed with 1-2 paragraphs of explanation including the background of the problem from the literature review.

The research questions should not be questions answered yes/no and should begin with words should as What? How? Why?
Step 5. Relate and Explain
In one paragraph, relate the identified topic to your program of study and explain your reasons for selecting the topic and the target population.
Step 6. Compile
Compile the introductory section (no title) featuring the introduction to the study, problem, purpose, and target population, and the Literature Review section of the qualitative research paper.
Step 7. Submit
Submit a 3- to 4-page APA-formatted paper not including a title page and a reference page. Save a copy of the draft paper for use in subsequent modules.

Problem and Problem Background
The problem is that remote work environments frequently result in diminished employee engagement, communication breakdowns, and declining productivity due to leadership approaches that fail to adapt to virtual settings. This problem has multiple complex factors shaping its background. The rapid pandemic-driven transition to remote work caught numerous organizations by surprise, making them introduce hasty remote work protocols without proper systems. Purpose of the Study
This qualitative study aims to identify and analyze effective leadership strategies that successfully address the unique challenges of managing remote teams. This research evaluates remote work experiences between managers and employees to establish an all-encompassing definition of successful remote leadership. The research focuses on uncovering the connection between leadership styles in distributed teams and their effect on team performance and alternative communication approaches for managers to sustain employee engagement across distances.
