Coaching refers to a partnership with clients, a thought-provoking and creative process whereby clients get inspired to maximize their personal and professional potential. On the other hand, mentoring is a system for employee training that involves a more experienced or experienced individual (the mentor) being assigned to provide advice, counsel, or guidance to a trainee or a junior (Bridgepoint Education Inc., 2017). The mentor provides support and feedback to the individual in their charge. Although the two require similar skills and are used as tools for professional development, they also have a few differences, mainly in structure and outcome.
