Cybersecurity Development Improvements for the Lockheed Martin Company
This is a group assignment. It is an interview with a cybersecurity manager. He is working Lockheed Martin in Washington DC. My part is separate for three part.

Lockheed Martin Company is reputed as the biggest contractor on matters of defense around the globe. The company has more than 120,000 employees around the world (Petrescu et al., 2017). The company is also divided into multiple business units with each unit dealing with a specific business area. With the aeronautics business unit, the organization deals with the manufacture of fighter jets such as the F-21(Petrescu et al., 2017). The other business unit is space exploration. In this, the corporation participates in NASA related projects. The next unit is rotary and mission systems which entail development and manufacture of land, water, and air systems. With regards to this business function, the firm’s main customer is the United States’ armed forces. Lastly, there is mission and fire control unit. With this function, the firm is tasked with development and creation of missile systems that can be utilized in land, water, and air for combat operations.
In order to accomplish some of the objectives and goals desired and recommended for LCM, there is need to put in place the best planning methodologies. The first planning methodology the sufficed was action planning. Essentially, this planning technique falls under the purview of strategic planning. Action planning entails tailoring the strategies of the firm to fit into day-to-day activities. Ideally, the purpose is to make the strategic plans an on-going process. The effect of this methodology is it motivates and increase employee efficiency since it is easy to measure performance based on daily activities (Pellerin & Perrier, 2018). The other planning methodology is operational planning. With this, the different business units are aligned and synchronized towards accomplishing the organization’s general objective. Operational planning allows for harmony in the firm.
The following recommendations sufficed upon analysis of the manager’s responses after the interview. The first area that the manager was interviewed on was on the tools and models employed by the company to empower and motivate the employees. Though the interviewee mentioned several tools employed, there is still room for augmentation. First of all, the organization seems to score poorly on diversity and inclusion. As such, diversity and inclusion intervention would be an excellent way to motivate employees. By and large, when inclusivity and diversity programs are introduced in organizations, the employees feel more connected (Barak, 2016). The high sense of belonging improves the productivity levels of the workers. For this reason, this organization needs to implement diversity and inclusion strategies by changing the hiring plans and improving employees’ experience in the workplace.
