Eunice lacks a global mindset. It is evident that she is not open minded or welcoming to new people, as she seems to lock herself in, completely blocking out any new people and ideas. She also doesn’t seem to encourage interpersonal interactions. This means that she doesn’t embrace cosmopolitanism, and thinks that only working with a distinct setup or group is enough. To confirm this, the leadership competencies by Bird and Osland (2017) can be applied. These are namely, global business expertise (she does not have a proper understanding of the business environment in Zurich), global organizing expertise (She is not very much interested in running a multicultural team), visioning (she doesn’t seem to be capable enough of communicating a vision that is global in nature, due to her knack of locking people out), global mindset (she doesn’t have a global mindset and can therefore not understand and appreciate the cultural diversity that is there in Zurich) and relationship management ( by the fact that she is not open to meeting new people, she doesn’t have the capability to build new networks in a multicultural environment such as the one in Zurich).
