 In Indian film or Bollywood, the sound is distinctive, but there are regional differences as local languages are used in film. Bollywood production and performance now symbolizes India culture, that even identities about South East Asians have been represented in the Bollywood sound.  The film industry in India was centered in Mumbai, which characterized the Bollywood sound, but other regions had film industries and languages, but the Hindi industry remained a big influence even in the 1970s (Booth, 2008).  The Bollywood sound had emerged after the country’s independence and partition with Pakistan.  For the orchestral performers in the dance bands, after India’s independence, the emergence of the film industry was crucial as film songs became more popular compared to the dance bands.  The film score composition also integrated elements of Hollywood styles later on, but there was still emphasis on the orchestral sound in the popula...
