Impact of Wireless Technology Devices in Schools. Education Essay

Essay Instructions:

Remember for each of these prompts that you need to limit your topic to a workable thesis, and can choose what you are arguing against, as well as what you’re arguing for. These topics are intentionally wide open. The level of argument is also your choice, but choose one and stick with it. Don’t try to argue the philosophical and the practical abjections to classroom bans on cell phones in the same essay.

Topic : Do think it practical, or desirable, for universities or other educational institutions to exert tighter controls, and maybe even bans, on the use of wireless technology by students on campus or during classes? What are the ideals, and the realities, of the “connected campus”? Has the ability to go online at virtually any time been to the benefit or detriment of the quality of education?

Impact of Wireless Technology Devices in Schools
Over the last fifty years, mankind has witnessed a rapid evolution and advancement of communication technology that if presented to a resident of another time, say, the 18th century, they would incredulously label it as magic. This technological advancement led to the creation of the most impactful tool of the 21st century: The Internet. From its humble beginnings as a military communication experiment, the Internet has transformed into an integral part of the lives of 21st-century people so much so some dependents might qualify it as a basic human need. Human ingenuity guaranteed that network communication device development experts would invent more convenient and faster methods of network device interconnectivity. It also improves the quality of education as students can collaborate on projects and assignments through online platforms that allow group editing of documents, and as an additional feature of sharing their work in real-time, thereby, allowing them to work at considerable distances from each other. Educators can enhance learner experiences through Internet-based virtual field trips that allow students to be immersed in simulated external environments. For instance, they can attend virtual tours of manufacturing factories in a different state, witness wildlife migration in Africa, and even conduct video interviews with willing business leaders all in the comfort of their class. Such virtual experiences can be instrumental in cutting costs for underfunded schools or students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Students in universities who are tasked with tackling serious projects that can be time-consuming benefit from accelerated completion of projects. Internet resources provid...
