There are considerable differences between Western and Eastern worldviews in terms of philosophies and cultures. The attitudes, beliefs, social structures, and many characteristics are notably different between West and East. These differences result in social and ethical conflicts in the regions today. The differing perspectives in philosophies and cultures also affect the social and ethical dimensions in the cultural conflicts (Simmons, 2009). This paper addresses the differences between the Western and Eastern Worldviews, and how the differing perspectives of reality affect the ethical and social dimensions within the cultural conflicts and the ways different groups try to resolve those conflicts.
Western worldview is largely anthropocentric. They consider nature as of secondary importance. Due to this, the West today conquers nature and governs it as they desire.
