Population Served and the Mission of Centre Region Parks and Recreation

For this assignment, identify a different organization in your area that serves adults, special populations, or the elderly. For each organization, write a one-page paper addressing:

The mission or goals of this organization

The population that is served and why this is necessary

How volunteers are used at this site under normal circumstances

How their operations and focus have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Provide a link to their website or upload a pamphlet that the organization provides for information

Several organizations and sites in your region work with various adult populations. During “normal” times, students would be asked to complete a volunteer service project, however given the restrictions due to COVID-19, students will instead research and report on an opportunity in their area. Students will identify a partner organization and complete a 1-page assignment about the site and what volunteers might do in that setting. Volunteer sites may include nursing homes, care facilities, day care facilities for special needs adults, and the CRPR Adult Activity center.
