The service economy has changed dramatically in recent years. Initially, innovations in web- and mobile-based platforms and applications have enabled organizations and individuals to cut short costs, processing periods to perform simple and complex activities, and, not least, make communications a matter of here and now, a click away. Constant investment in ICT (Information & Communication Technology), coupled by declining web connectivity and growing broadband speeds, has given birth to a plethora of decentralized, app-based services, including ride-hailing.
