It gives available, universal and lifelong care, which includes preventive and acute and chronic care. Primary care coordinates services across health system so as to offer appropriate and timely care to patients. It enhances greater outcomes, mitigates inequalities, and costs whereby it focuses on the preventive aspect and early diagnosis (Penn et al., 2025). Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates and others provide holistic patient-centered care on both long-term relationships and overall wellness. Hospitals and outpatient services play different but intertwined roles in the healthcare delivery system. Outpatient services are preventive, diagnostic and treatment services that are not completed through overnight stay (Rieder, 2025). They pay attention to convenience, early diagnosis, and affordable treatment. Hospitals on the other hand treat secondary and tertiary care and are dealing with complex, emergency or specialized conditions (Jing et al., 2025). Most of the patients visit an outpatient clinic as the entry point, and severe or advanced illnesses are treated in hospitals.
