The identity of the resurrected bridal is established when the author describes her as a lone spirit on page 180. He states that the bride is “timid night breeze that stirs his ornaments.” As she moves, he only sees a shadow and wonders whether there is someone in his vicinity. On page 181 of scene 32, the bridal further reveals who she is. She states her engagement with Master Liu is known by everyone in her shades, although hidden from the mortals. As she narrates, her mortal body is not corrupted, although her name is already entered in the ghostly registers. She continues to state that she had died because of Master Liu, and she resurrected again because of him. On page 185, Liu wonders that, because the bridal is not mortal, what kind of a person is she. Therefore, she might be a spirit of moonlight and flowers or a romance demon. However, the bridal on page 187 explains that Du Bao her father; thus, she is a bridal aged sixteen years; although she had once died, she resurrected.
