Bloodless surgery also referred to as the gamma knife surgery is a method that brain surgery is performed within a short period of stay in the hospital. The major advantage is that it cuts short the pain and the recovery period is usually reduced and there are no incisions. This method is one used to treat certain brain tumors. Other methods that the gamma knife surgery would be used for include the vascular malformations and the trigeminal neuralgia (Wanatabe, 2011).
