When one is diagnosed with diabetes, it just means that their health mechanisms are having a problem regulating the glucose in their body. As such, the body is not fully able to use the glucose that is ingested. Insulin is a hormone in the body that is responsible for glucose utility in the body and if it is not present or doesn’t work properly/inadequate, it can lead to diabetes. Where there is an absence of the hormone, this causes type 1diabetes, while type 2 is caused by inadequate insulin hormones (Zeitler, 2012).
This paper will discuss the diabetes type 2 symptoms. Usually the type two symptoms are much harder to notice, unless one is keen enough and the right tests are carried out by a qualified physician. This is because even those that are suffering from the condition can be diagnosed and found to be free of it. The symptoms tend to develop rather gradual and as such, are not obvious. This type of diabetes is also life-long (Strayer, 2012).
Some of the most common symptoms include, the patients always having a tired feeling. This feeling mostly comes after the patient has taken a meal, during the day. It is also related to the fact that patients do not have enough glucose in the blood to supply to the muscles for energy (Strayer, 2012). There is also the feeling of hunger, which rather abnormal, as it happens just after one has eaten. The patients also have to put up with an increased rate of urination, which is even more frequent during the night hours. This is sensitive as it can easily lead to dehydration and later on kidney failure if left unchecked. Most of the time patients with the diabetes type 2 tend to feel thirst more often than not, regardless of how much water they take or the time of the day, this could be related to the fact that there a lot of sugars in the blood (Zeitler, 2012).
