Since the invention of Facebook, several social media sites have emerged as people become obsessed with sharing their experiences on the internet. One of the sites that has had a significant impact on society is Instagram. Instagram is a site like no other. Here, people actually compete to showcase their day-to-day lives. The competitive nature of the site, therefore, makes it extremely expensive for some users. Like other social media platforms, Instagram is also based on likes. However, on Instagram, there is an added feature of followers. The greater the number of followers, the higher a person is on the social ladder (Frier, 2020). Instagram also acts as an avenue for showcasing trending styles. A critical aspect of social life is trends. Clothes, shoes, hats, and jewelry determine how people are viewed by others in social circles. Hence, on Instagram, one can always find trendy individuals showcasing the newest styles. By following such individuals, other users become aware of the trends in the fashion world.
