(I Will leave an attachment for Part B) Revising Annoying Source Use Overview You’ll read an article about some of the “annoying ways” novice writers use sources, then use those ideas to review and revise source usage in your own draft. Note: This activity was originally created by Lauren Garskie (2023, p. 248). In that copy, highlight (using the “highlight” tool) each time you used a source (any time you drew on someone else’s knowledge). PART B: Reflect on Your Revision Activity Once you have completed your revision activity, tell us about your experience using the document linked below to (1) tell us activity you did, (2) list three concrete revisions you made, then (3) write a 250-word reflection. This assignment is designed to help you make decisions about what kind of revision activities help (and don’t help) your individual writerly development. As you write more and more and become more confident in your writing, you will begin to develop a writing process that is more unique and less general. For example, one person might find outlining an essay a really useful organizational tool that helps them stay on track; someone else, however, might find outlining frustrating, preferring to just get writing. Said differently, what works for some writers, might not work as well for others. This revision activity prompts you to think about what worked and didn’t work for you.
