Describe a situation in your nursing practice where your own communication played an important role for better or worse.
Nursing caring career is becoming more evidenced-based—many scientific concepts, such as complex technological tools used in diagnosing and using machinery in the documentation. However, the fact that nurses are the first people to contact the patient remains constant (Jeong & Kim, 2017). One scenario that my communication skills played an important role in the best was when a patient could not explain their situation due to bitterness and pain. With empathy, I confronted the lady and promised to keep her situation confidential. My interpersonal skills bore fruits when the young lady opened up and explained their health concerns. Our nurse-client relationship developed positively, and I helped her procure legal action against her perpetrators and monitored her medical response until she fully recovered.
In what ways do individual client-centered encounters and effective team collaboration intersect to meet client needs?
Client-centered care intersects with teamwork to provide excellent care services to the clients. Client-centered care involves the nurse listening to patients and involving them in the care. By allowing open communication within a team, patient concerns can be handled effectively, and excellent outcomes realized.
