( I am applying MS in Operations Research, with an analytics concentration, at Columbia University. The MSOR program integrates multiple disciplines of my interest, including mathematical programming, statistic models, simulation, and risk management. This fits perfectly with my career outlook and will ensure that I gain not only the technical skills, but also business insights needed to succeed in my future. Meanwhile, my passion for data analytics can be fulfilled through the unique Analytics concentration offered within the program. I am beyond excited to explore this field through courses such as Tools for Analytics, Analytics on the Cloud, and Deep Learning for OR & FE. This well-designed curriculum will allow me to gain specialized skills to solve business problems using data analytics; I can also gain practical experience through project-based teachings offered by the MSOR program.)
