The Purpose of The Quality Improvement Initiative.
The quality of products or services plays an important role in determining consumer satisfaction. If the consumer satisfaction rate is high, a company will likely make huge profits to keep its operations running (Oliver, Kothari & Mays, 2019). Therefore, this report will focus on the quality improvement plan of buying new equipment for the hospital and its benefits.
The quality improvement initiative to be addressed in this case is the purchase of new equipment for the hospital. The equipment would be based on modern technologies. The medical industry is one of the industries that face the threat of obsolete technology. Therefore, hospitals need to keep up with the changing technologies by purchasing equipment made of better or improved technologies (Wang, Kung & Byrd, 2018). It is the wish of every employee to work in a conducive environment where they are not exposed to unnecessary fatigue. Such is an important aspect in a hospital because fatigued staff would compromise the quality of healthcare offered to patients. In turn, such would negatively affect the hospital's reputation, thus reducing its profits.
The key benefit of the quality improvement initiative is ensuring that all the patients receive quality healthcare. The quality of healthcare offered to the patients determines whether they would seek health care services in the same hospital in the future or not. Therefore, new equipment for different departments, such as the radiology department, would enhance the quality of healthcare by facilitating proper diagnosis. Such would reduce the extra costs associated with poor diagnoses of diseases. When patients receive quality healthcare, they are likely to refer their friends and family to seek healthcare in the same hospital. In turn, the hospital would make more profits. Another benefit of the quality improvement initiative is that it would make work easier for the staff, thus reducing their chances of being fatigued (Morley &...
