I have more than three years of specialty wound care experience in a variety of settings as a registered nurse, certified midwife, and now board-certified FNP. Starting with obstetrics and med-surg to rural clinics and advanced wound care, all of these experiences have helped me become able to provide evidence-based, compassionate care. I am currently seeking to take the National Wound Care Certification Examination due to my qualifications and readiness to practice in the field of clinical nursing. My initial clinical experience was in Iran, where I worked as a nurse and midwife. I was given complete spectrum care of women, including wound treatment after episiotomies, cesarean section, and post-surgical complications. These formative years sharpened my technical expertise and provided me with the knowledge of how to provide culturally sensitive care. My approach became based on infection control, early detection, and patient education. After I immigrated to the United States, I earned both my nursing and advanced practice degrees as I continued to broaden my wound care knowledge. I had an internship with Southern California Hospital in Culver City as a medical-surgical nurse between February 2014 and November 2016. I attended to post-op patients with such complications as hemorrhage, delayed healing, and infection. The care of the wound involved dressings, irrigations, observation, and cooperation in debridement.
