Popper’s Test Of Real Science
Write in a clear, direct style. Give as much introduction as you think is needed (perhaps not much) and then get straight down to answering the question. Avoid discursive footnotes. It's not necessary to do a lot of extra reading in order to do well. If you do want to read more, contact your tutor for suggestions. (Don't hope for guidance from wandering the internet. Most philosophical material on the internet is not good.)
2. Popper thought that the mark of a scientific theory is that it is falsifiable in principle. A scientific theory clashes with some possible observations; it takes risks. In lectures and in the readings, we've looked at some examples of theories that might count as non-scientific or pseudo-scientific by this standard. Find another example of a theory that might fail Popper's test, and discuss whether it actually does or not.
