Poetry: Gothic Poems
Are any of these poems Gothic? IF so, how?

One criticism of "The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere" was that the moral wasn't clear enough. Coleridge and Wordsworth responded by saying that the fault in the poem was that there was too much of a moral in it--too much of a story or "tale" in it, or as Wordsworth chides his readers in "Simon Lee" (also in Lyrical Ballads),
My gentle Reader, I perceive,
How patiently you've waited,
And now I fear that you expect
Some tale will be related.
O Reader! had you in your mind
Such stores as silent thought can bring,
O gentle Reader! you would find
A tale in every thing.
What more I have to say is short,
And you must kindly take it:
It is no tale; but, should you think,
Perhaps a tale you'll make it.
That is, I think, that Coleridge and Wordsworth didn't leave any room for the reader to make use of their imagination while reading "Rime...".

Gothic Poems
Gothic poems are usually characterized by horror or mystery; for example, “My gentle reader…” poem is a gothic poem. Gothic poetry comprises several elements, for instance, suspense and mystery. This particular poem is evidence of suspense, especially in the third line of the first stanza (“And now I fear that you expect”). In this case, the plot of the poem creates a frightening fear which conceives to fear of the unknown. Suspense and mystery are some of the commonest pieces in most gothic poems and horror films.
