Personal Philosophy of Education

Essay Instructions:

This paper is a statement of your personal philosophy of education, which should focus on the purpose of education, which is why education is carried out and not so much how it is carried out.  Your purpose of education is to emphasize the long-range impact you believe education should have on individuals and on society—the outcome of education.  As you convey your philosophy, you are to focus on its outcome rather than on the methods, practices, instruction, or classroom activities.  Those are tools of carrying out your philosophy; therefore, a simple discussion of teaching strategies does not make up your philosophy of education.

As an academic paper, it is to be supported by the body of knowledge in the field, which is to include references to the literature from educational philosophy, psychology, curriculum, and learning theory.  Treat this as a position statement, a persuasive paper.  Make declarative statements of “ought” and “should.”

Follow the length requirement outlined in the syllabus, use APA format, and include a minimum of four references.

HEADINGS: See the rubric at the bottom of this document; it will be used for assessing the paper.  To ensure the paper meets the requirements of the rubric, you are to include the elements listed below. Note the required headings that are to be placed in the same order in your paper as they appear in the outline below.

Personal Philosophy of Education Student Name Student ID# Course# and Section Professor’s Name 1.0. Abstract The philosophy of education ensures the integrity of the vision and resolution of problems in education as a set of value-formed ideas about educational theory, learning, and practice. The philosophy of education is a form of philosophical activity in relation to education. The very understanding of education needs to be clarified. The goal of such philosophical activity is to mentally identify the most essential in the understanding of education, what determines its development, interpretation at all social levels interested in its practice, as well as generating it. This paper discussed the philosophy of education in the light of schools practice, learning, instructional practice, teacher-learner relationships, diversity in education, and assessment philosophy. Education is a phenomenon of the sociocultural process, a subsystem of culture and an expression of the mechanism of cultural genesis. In general, the modern ideal of education is a learner, on the one hand, well prepared for life, including a willingness to overcome life crises; on the other, an active and sensible attitude to life and culture, to some extent involved in their change and transformation. , my opinion about the educational philosophy is based on the theory of idealism, which I tend to use in my future practice in the field of education. The philosophy of education is a fundamentally new area of scientific knowledge that allows fully and consistently reflecting the general principles and laws of education and its knowledge. It comprehends its state, development trends and contradictions, it's various systemic, procedural, and value aspects, to compare the expected and real possible. The rationale for this assignment is to discuss the philosophy of education, emphasizing on the school's practice, learning, instructional practice, teacher-learner relationships, diversity in education, and assessment philosophy. The philosophy of education ensures the integrity of the vision and resolution of problems in education as a set of value-formed ideas about educational theory, learning, and practice. 2.0. Philosophy of Schools & Learning Using classical school philosophy, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of an education institution, which needs its own specific theory of learning and teaching (Noddings, 2018). In this regard, it is necessary to take into account the purpose and objectives of the construction, functioning and development of the educational process and in general the problems of didactics of school and learning. It is based on the training and qualification levels of the students and stipulated the development of science and technology. Moreover, it is also important to consider the mass nature of education and scientific training of specialists, the reflection in the educational process of the increasing role of science in the development of society and material production. I believe that learning allows a consistent implementation of perfect ways and means of training in the educational process, allowing to improve the quality and efficiency of the overall educational process. In other words, the knowledge base in teacher education enhances the intellectual and creative development of students (Wain, 2016). In my opinion, schools and other educational institutions ensure the continuity of the learning process, thereby improving the consistent formation of professional competencies. The necessity of developing the theory and practice of philosophical education of schoolchildren as a new direction in philosophical-pedagogical research in the context of the ideas of modern educational philosophy is substantial. In this regard, I believe in the theory of idealism. The idealism indicates that the goal of learning is not to regulate the child, but to stimulate the process of his self-determination (Wolbert, De Ruyter, & Schinkel, 2019). The mind seeks to contact with the environment, leading to discovery, analysis, synthesis, to the realization of the brain's abilities through creative efforts, to growth and maturity. Idealists attach great importance to the laws of learning, and not to the content. 3.0. Instructional Practice In human society, the learning process relies primarily on the demonstration of patterns of behavior and instructional practice. At the same time, already at the early stages of learning, the demonstration of desirable patterns of behavior or objective activity is accompanied by verbal explanations, rewards, or prohibitions (Noddings, 2018). As a child grows up, the role of verbal and speech acts in the learning process grows. In the instructional practice, the learning process includes knowledge of what and how you can and cannot be done. The skills of classifying surrounding phenomena, processes, and events are imparted into forbidden and resolved, good and bad, and useful and harmful (Burbules, 2018). The sum of relevant knowledge and assessments forms a common tool for educating the individual, the formation of individuality, and a powerful means of socializing a child. However, according to the humanistic paradigm, the goal of the teacher is not formation, but s...
