Although the application of a motivational strategy based on a certain theory may be assumed to apply to all workers, research tells us that people have distinct differences, distinct personalities. Think of the Big Five personality model. Research shows that we all fall somewhere on the spectrum for each of the five traits. Where do you think you fall on the five dimensions, and how does that impact your work life? For example, please evaluate where you fall on the extraversion scale, the conscientiousness scale, the agreeableness scale, etc., and how the combination of these traits, which makes you so unique, impacts you at work.
We are all different, and my personality differs from that of every other person in the world. There might be similarities, but everyone is their person. Looking at openness, I am not a person who is high in this trait. I do like change but have reservations when many things happen to change around me. I also entertain the idea of abstract concepts or ideas, but not to a great extent. While I am averagely open, I am highly conscientious.
