1. The write-up on social commentary for the day of our Final does not need to be like a lit crit, but I do expect you to pick a question, gather evidence and find your answer (thesis), but it does not need to focus on gender, race, psychoanalysis.

2.You are focusing on an element or elements of social commentary for ONE of the dramas. Please do NOT choose to write about both. These essays never turn out well.

3. Please do not make this a long write up; I think it should be longer than the paragraph lit crit but shouldn't be 4+ pages. Two to three pages should suffice.

4. For citing the play, since there are no act, scene, and/or line numbers for both plays, you can just use the author's last name and page number. Then for every other quote, the page number is fine.

5. For citing a drama, you can just Block the quote like the examples below.

6. Note: If you mess up the formatting, don't worry. If I can still follow your point, you won't lose points.

7. Please also try to lead into your quotes (embed).

Western Cannibalization of Developing Nations
Harvest is a drama written by Manjula Padmanabhan, and it presents a vision of the cannibalistic future that is awaiting the human race due to the advances that are made in technology. The drama enables the reader to see the cultural imperialism influence from the first world countries that awaits the third world countries. The first world countries take advantage of the poverty situation of the third world countries. But at the end, it depends on the decision of third world countries to resist the influences that are brought in by the other cultures.
The economic woes that face the third world countries have been highlighted at the beginning of the drama when Om, the breadwinner of the family loses his job. In my view, the writer used the incident to refer on how the third world countries become desperate. It is during this time when the countries are desperate that the first world countries come in and take advantage of such a situation. In addition, the division of the family and the loveless relationship that it goes through has been used to symbolize how the third world countries are not able to solve their internal problems. Even though the third world countries appear to stay together, they have their own conflicts that are unsolved and there is existence of hatred among them just like in the family of Om. Due to this situation, Inter Planta Services takes advantage of the situation of the family due to economic woes and hires Om to donate healthy organs of his body when required by the receiver.Om gives in since he has no other option and given that the receiver requires the services of a bachelor, Om conceals as a bachelor and Jaya pretends to be the sister. In this incidence, the author presents the fact that the western nations are opportunistic and they take advantage of the third world countries to cannibalize them. On the other side, given that the third world countries are desperate, they give in to the demands of the first world countries thinking that they are being helped while in the real sense, they are being destroyed.
The first world countries can...
