In order to define a project, one has to think of some work with a deadline associated with it, the resources around you, and a budget to satisfy the extent of the project work. In many businesses, everything is a project. In any project, it involves employees, both have typically limited resources including people, money or both and are optimistically designed, performed and managed by someone in charge. In order to position oneself potentially as a project manager, it requires full understanding of the above points.
Project management involves the administration and organization of all work required in order to complete the project dream. The project manager in charge of the projects schedules, monitors and controls the various projects tasks done by the project team. It therefore comprises the following nine knowledgeable areas (PMBOK).
The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) refers to a collection of processes and knowledge areas generally suitable as the most excellent practice within the project management discipline. It generally provides the basics of project management to be applied by any project manager, irrespective of the type of project at hand, be it in engineering, construction and automotive.
