Deciding to splurge on a dream vacation with my family to Japan
This essay provides both an informational and persuasive explanation regarding the above-mentioned topic. It comprises a comprehensive elucidation as to the reasons why I chose Japan as the destination to indulge on a holiday with my family. Simply put, this paper explains why this vacation is worth the expense and is intended at persuading my family to vacation at my chosen destination that happens to be Japan.
There are several reasons that made me decide on Japan as the destination to vacation with my family. These reasons range from outdoor activities, to culture, to technology, to food and drinks to cityscapes and landscapes. Culture: experiencing the Japanese culture is definitely the top reason. As tourists, experiencing Japanese culture will allow us to visit the fascinating shrines, temples and cultures, as well as the festivals and authentic restaurants (Alderton, 2012). In the cities of Kyoto and Osaka, shrines and temples are everywhere and they are close to the main tourist track. In Osaka, we would be able to check out the major castle within the city such as Osaka Castle. If we vacation to Japan around the month of April, which happens to be their spring, we would be able to see the exhilarating cherry blossoms. In essence, there is a lot to discover in Japan. For instance, samurai parade and cherry blossom festival that celebrates a very well-known Samurai in the History of Japan. Another thing to discover is how the people of Japan celebrate the eve of the New Year – the hot soup and free booze are used to make up for the cold. There is also the biggest dancing festival in the country – it is notable that Awa Odori is a primordial dance in Japan and this particular festival usually attracts more than 1.1 million people annually (Uzama, 2009).
Technology: Besides having a rich tradition, this country is prominent as the origin of countless technologies. For instance the Toyota Prius – when on site, one can check out the interactive three-dimensional experience of the new Apha model of Toyota Prius. There is also the famed electronic washlet toilet and the world-celebrated bullet train, the Shinkansen. These trains are capable of speeds of nearly 190 miles per hour and are highly refined and punctual to the second. The easiest, cheapest and the best way of experiencing the Japanese bullet train is by buying a Japan Rail Pass, which would give the traveler access to travel on many Shinkansen train services and they are available for 21, 14 and 7 days (Rowley & Tashiro, 2007).
