‘Girl' is a story of a Jamaican mother offering advice to her daughter. The story resembles a poem due to the many reputations as well as the style of writing. This paper will show that 'Girl' by Kincaid is a story because its content fits the description of the story.
A story should have an introduction, a body and a conclusion. These parts are usually easy to see, the introduction is meant to capture the attention of the audience, while the body is the story. The conclusions sum up the important lessons from the story for the audience and may contain an interactive session to ensure the instructions reach the intended audience.
