Genetic views of one hundred years age versus today's views of the social uses of genetic information.
Eugenics is the applied science advocating use of practices aimed at improving genetic composition of population it is referred to as the manipulation of human information. Eugenics by twentieth century it was practiced with the support of many governments, early eugenics encouraged reproduction among the advantaged.
Genetic views a hundred years ago
Plato viewed and believed that reproduction should be monitored and controlled by the state. In ancient civilization like Rome, Athens and Sparta they practiced infanticide, in Sparta the fate of new borns were decided by cities elders with the believe that only the strong survived. Galton claimed the less intelligent were more fertile than the more intelligent in his time; Alexander Graham investigated deafness and found that it was hereditary in nature.
Eugenic criteria`s in (1907) saw many countries adopt legislation of compulsory sterilization of certain individuals. Beginning (1896) many states enacted marriage laws with eugenic criteria prohibiting epileptic or feeble from marrying.
