WRITE: Based on your research above and the brainstorming you completed for the Unit 2 DB, write a double spaced, two-paragraph paper in which you do the following:
Based on what you learned in the Writing Center and your own thoughts about the term, define effective writing
Analyze the blog post/article/business report you selected and read, being sure to identify the intended audience and how the audience's needs are met, as well as the main point of the blog post/article/report and what the writer does effectively.
Explore how you might in the future model your writing after what this writer does well. Explain what you will do to make that happen.
USE the following chart to help organize and focus your thoughts. Doing so will also help ensure you meet the Unit 2 Assignment Rubric expectations.

Define effective writing using information from the Writing Center and your own thoughts about what this term means.
Identify the article, blog, or report you read and then apply your definition of effective writing to explain how the article, blog, or report you read is effectively written.
Identify the intended audience and main point. Consider how the writer establishes and develops a main point and meets the intended audience’s needs, for example.

Explain how you can use this blog post, article, or report as a model for your own future effective writing
Analyze what you will want to do in the future to ensure that your writing, too, is effective.

Effective Writing Effective writing refers to the development of a written piece that is clear, accurate, and concise, as implied in the Writing Center. Effective writing aims to pass on ideas in a manner that the audience understands rapidly, unambiguously, and effortlessly (Graham, 2019). Therefore, clarity of content, accuracy of information, and conciseness of the written piece are the core characteristics of effective writing. Each of these characteristics is present in Tom Morris’ article The Art of Writing where Morris (2015) briefly explores how conversations can help a potential writer develop the art of writing. The article is concise and delivers the intended message without being wordy.
