President Trump will not win the reelection next year because he has not performed well on important national matters such as racism/ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality. I think the Democratic nominee will win the presidency.
The Trump administration has failed to manage middle-class problems, particularly economic insecurity. While President Trump has constantly boasted of how the economy is booming, the plight of the middle-class has not been taken into consideration by his administration. Instead, the billionaire class is the one benefiting from the “booming” economy. According to an article in the Guardian (2019), the economy is booming for corporate America and the billionaire class but not for the working class.
President Trump has also not performed well on racism/ethnicity. It is important to recognize that racism and ethnicity are among the key challenges facing the nation. According to an article in the Washington Post, since Trump took office, there has been a rise of hate crimes with the majority of victims targeted because of their ethnicity, race, or ancestry (King, 2018). Therefore, I think Democratic the nominee will have an edge over Trump on racism/ethnicity matters.
