Overview: Persuasion is a constant in each of our lives. No matter where we look, what we read, what we see, or who we interact with, we are inevitably going to encounter some form of persuasion. Advertisements want us to buy things. Newspapers and television want to convince us of how we should feel about events. We are put into positions where we must defend our thoughts and beliefs to others, and the process we apply is typically some form of persuasion.
Persuasive writing is one of the most powerful forms of writing—it has the ability to influence one’s thoughts, and also the ability to change one’s mind about a particular issue. The persuasive essay is an ideal opportunity to support an opinion on an issue using researched facts and information. It also gives you the
chance to recognize opposing viewpoints and refute it, noting that those who hold the opposing viewpoints are the intended audience of the piece.
Prompt: For this essay, you will identify an issue in your current major, a major you are interested in pursuing, or your field of work. You will then establish an

While leaders around the world often mistake diversity and inclusion to be interchangeable concepts, they are largely dissimilar, and a solid understanding of the disparities between the two is critical to effective modern business administration (Fox, 2020). For example, a business setting that includes members from different ethnic groups, sex, nationalities, and other identities but fails to value certain groups’ perspectives may be considered diverse but not inclusive (Garg & Sangwan, 2021). Equitable organizations that combine diversity and inclusion gain a competitive advantage over their rivals by respecting every employee’s views, needs, and potential. This success is partly due to the deeper trust and commitment displayed by employees to achieve business objectives (Fires & Sharperson, 2017). Students majoring in Business Administration will be able to set clear organizational values, promote innovation among employees, and ultimately increase revenues, among other organizational goals.
In showing the importance of diversity and inclusion in modern business administration, my persuasive essay will focus on three key points to support my argument. These include revenue growth, employees’ readiness to innovate, and talent and employee retention (Liu et al., 2020). While other leaders have supported these concepts in leading multinational companies such as Microsoft, some of my audience will comprise leaders from companies already having challenges in inclusivity and diversity, such as Amazon, which has been criticized for supporting racism (Kerber et al., 2020). However, the goal of this essay will not only be based on the dangers of racism in business but will require a comparison of all aspects of identities in workplaces (Perkins-Chavis, 2017). To support my argument, I will use Fox’s (2020) article to explain the common illusion of inclusion, Garg and Sangwan’s (2021) work to explore a deep understanding of the concepts, and Liu et al.
